Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour dans ce "petit bout du monde" qu'est Saplunara, logés chez Jany et Boris à la Villa Hansal. Le site est formidable : plage de sable fin accessible en 5min à pied, magnifique vue mer depuis la terrasse ombragée, la supérette pour faire les course juste à coté. L'appartement est bien meublé et très propre. Nos hôtes Jany et Boris sont très chaleureux et ne manquent pas de nous donner de bons conseils pour le séjour. Voilà une bonne adresse pour profiter des beautés de la Croatie.

Pri družini Hansal smo bili letos že drugič. Lastnika Boris in Jenny sta izjemno prijazna in vedno na uslugo. Vila Hansal stoji v središču male vasice Saplunara, ki se ponaša s eno najlepših plaž na Hrvaškem. Vila Hansal ponuja več apartmajev, vsi pa imajo tudi teraso ali balkon - tako bo tudi vaš zajtrk ali večerja ob pogledu na morje svojevrstno doživetje. Še posebej očarljiva je velika terasa apartmaja Romana, za katero lahko rečem, da ponuja največje udobje, ki ga lahko od terase pričakujete - senco, osvežujoč vetrič in prekrasen razgled. Brez dvoma najboljša terasa na celem Jadranu. V neposredni bližini sta tudi dve restavraciji z odlično ponudbo ribjih jedi, družna Hansal pa vam bo z veseljem odstopila tudi svoj vrtni ža, kjer lahko pripravite svoje jedi. Boris ima v lasti tudi malo trgovino z osnovnimi živili in drugimi najnujnejšimi stvarmi. Če želite s svojo družino brezmejno uživati v mirnem in neokrnjenem okolju, kjer ni stojnic s kramo, gneče, prometa in ostalih elementov množičnega turizma, je Saplunara prava izbira za vaš oddih. Wir waren im September 14 Tage als "Landratten" in der Villa Hansal und haben uns dort ausgesprochen wohl gefühlt. Jenny und Boris sind äußerst liebenswerte Menschen, es macht Freude, sich mit ihnen zu unterhalten. Und die Strände um Saplunara gehören zu den saubersten, die wir in vielen Jahren in Kroatien gesehen haben. Der Urlaub war sehr entspannend, auch deshalb, weil es im Market von Boris - direkt im Haus - so ziemlich alles gibt, das das Herz begehrt. Wir haben die Leute und diese wundervolle Insel lieb gewonnen und werden sicher wieder kommen.

Siamo stati a Saplunara all'inizio di luglio presso villa Hansal. Boris e Tea sono stati molto gentili ed ospitali, l'appartamento è spazioso e confortevole, la spaziosa terrazza offre una vista magnifica sulla baia di Saplunara. La signora Janj ha cucinato per noi un'ottima cena a base di pesce ai ferri. L'isola di Mljet è incantevole con scorci di mare ancora incontaminati e una ricca vegetazione. Abbiamo trascorso una fantastica vacanza

Nikad nam nigdje na moru nije bilo tako lijepo ko na Mljetu, nemam namjeru vise drugdje ljetovati nego na Mljetu, u Saplunari, prekasna plaža, pravi mali raj i naši Hansali su vrhunski domaćini! Sve najbolje za Saplunaru i domaćine!!!!

My friends and I stayed in Villa Hansel for the best part of a week. We loved our little apartment in paradise! Boris and Jany were wonderful hosts - Boris helped us out with the logistics of getting around the island amongst other things and we enjoyed an evening of good conversation and even better wine with him and his wife. Two beaches were a few moments stroll away and the most idyllic cove was just a bit further down the road. Surrounded by such quiet but stunning beauty you almost have to pinch yourself to believe its real. If you're considering spending a night on Mljet as part of a Dalmatian coast tour - re-consider as the place needs at least 3 nights minimum to make the most of it! I arrived feeling stressed and overworked and left feeling relaxed and peaceful - healing for the soul!

What a lovely place. Boris and Jany were so welcoming and went out of their way to make us feel at home. Jany cooked us a lovely prawn pasta one night, which went down especially well on the big balcony overlooking the sea. The views are gorgeous, the serenity unrivalled and the rooms clean, comfortable and a great base from which to explore Saplunara, which boasts three sandy beaches and stunning scenery.

We stayed a week in the villa Hansal last summer. Very confortable flat with a terrace with wonderful vew on the bay. Very good welcome from Boris and Jany. They can cook very good dishes of croatia spécialities. Furthermore Jany speaks very well french. The island of Mljet is a very nice place not crowded. I like the place for a lot of reasons, the perfect cleanness, the hygiene, the clean smell, and urban environment inside, and the rich, beautiful mother nature outside with permanent give off of pleasant natural perfumes. The view from balcony in every evening and morning is an all time changing mixture of fairy tale and joy of colors. The presence of our hosts is a delicate balance of attention and tactfulness, and in their shop at the first floor you can find everything what a tourist need. The sandy beach is at 2 minutes, and from the pine forest you can almost jump in the perfectly quiet gulf. The place is silent, but I like silence, especially when admiring an impressionistic, french painting like shining sea landscape. You can search from a place which is somehow similar yet different in other places, only you will find not, I didn't found in 15 years.

We sailed to Mljet last summer, anchored in the beautiful Saplunara Bay and also looked for a grocery store. we ended up talking to Boris in his store and we spent a wonderful afternoon visiting an old almost deserted town Korita together with Boris and his expert guide and lovely wife Jany. we also visited the apartments and it all looked very clean and tidy with beautiful views of the bay and adriatic sea. the island is one of the more quiet islands so perfect for a peaceful stay enjoying the beach and water. Boris and Jany were showing us a rare and remarkable hospitality, far away from the more touristic islands. Thank you again and hope to be able one day to return your hospitality.

We stayed 3 weeks in Saplunara 2 years ago. We have chosen the apartment with the huge terrace. The view was so nice, the sun everyday and the 2 beaches very close to our apartment. The Hansal family was very friendly and they were very kind with us and our sun. We liked so much our holidays there that we go back again this year :)

Villa Hansal is located in Saplunara which is a lovely village in south east Mljet. It is run by the friendly and helpful Boris and Jany Hansal. The apartments are spacious and immaculately kept. If you like a quiet holiday we would certainly recommend staying here. Unique Quality: The view from the apartments is quite outstanding looking over Saplunara Bay which is a haven for yachts at night.

I highly recommend a trip to the island of Mljet. My husband and I stayed there in June 2007. The island is beautiful and peaceful. We stayed at the Villa Hansal which we thoroughly enjoyed. The owners, Boris and Jany are great hosts. We particularly enjoyed the traditional Croatian dinners that Jany made for us (ask to try her homemade sage brandy-- very good), swimming in the beautiful sea which is right out in front of the villa, and sitting on the veranda in the evenings enjoying the view of the water.

We would second what both the two previous posters have said about Lopud and Mljet islands. We stayed a few days on both island in June 2006. Both were quiet but not 'dead'. On Mljet we stayed at in the small village of Saplunara at the excellent Villa Hansel. Hire a mini brum - a small car, at the port. Visit Blace Beach near Saplunara a beautiful lagoon. It was bit tricky trying to work out the ferry schedules. We felt their coverage was a bit patchy and not easy to understand on the web. Things might have improved for 2007. Lokrum was great for a quick escape from the crowds of Dubrovnik taking 15 minutes in the ferry. I don't think it has accommodation. We were briefly in Cavtat which seemed very pleasant and only 10 minutes from the airport.
